06 impalla lt 3.5 dumped all the power steering fluid as soon as i would get pressure. replaced the power steering pump it is holding fluid now but stil no power steering. When i look in the tank i the fluid isnt circulating. Is there anything else this could be or do i maybe have a faulty pump?

You say it dumped the fluid, from where?

under the car on the firewall . I thought it was the return line but it wasnt . all I know is i replaced the pump and its holding fluid now but still no power steering. Could the rack have been the problem all along?

I remember reading in a service manual for my 95 about bleeding the system and if I recall it was pretty long and detailed.

Agreed on bleeding the system, wheels off the ground the steering should be turned to extremes 3 times, then let sit with the pump cap off for 15 minutes.
