:banghead::banghead:hey there my step sone has a 97 sl SOHC the other day he said he thought the starter was bad no clicking no nothing i said okay ill check it out. then he realized the blower for the heat doesnt work. so i looked at it. no start, no heat, no rear defogger, no DRL. so i found the BIG GREEN 30AMP fuse for IGN 3 in the under hood junction box was blown. so i replaced it and poof the heat works. however as soon as i turnd the key to crank it over the fuse pops. i was thinking one of the starter wires was touching something. i looked under there and i couldnt see any visible signs of any bad wires near the starter or alternator. it runs fine it pop started just no heat or DRL. everything works fine with a new fuse. but as soon as you turn the key to the start position it pops the fuse. where else should i look for a bad wire??? anyone with a simalar problem??? please help as soon as possible....
thanks in advance
Dave

Be sure to replace the DRL relay. You need it for your high beams to work unless you put a jumper between a certain two terminals in the DRL relay location. I can't remember which two terminals need the jumper though. And yeah, the electrical tape thing is normal.

nice! I looked for a video of its location but forget what video its in haha

Anyway seems you found it :)

Yes replace the DRL Relay. You want to have DRL's. Its a vital safety feature.

thanks again rc yea i found it with all the blood rushin to my head man youd think theyd put the starter relay in one of the juntion boxes to make it easy... but no! hahaha gues itsone of thos things they do to make you go tothe dealer and get robbed lol anyway yeah i gave him the DRL relay out of my blazer same one lukily i never use my day time runners in fact i usually do the old 4 pushes on the dome override button to shut them off but ill prolly get another one tho dueto the fact that without it only one highbeam works wich i never use also... but anyways thanks again for the help ida prolly been tearin crap apart and tracing wires one by one not fun and ive done that too many times lol
