I seem to recall we decided that was #037 and not #010. I'm struggling to remember what the determining factor was, but part of it related to the license plate I think. In the crashed photo the plate appears to be red which would be typical for dealer use or testing of unregistered cars in Germany.

I thought the designation on the plate in this shot would help, but the FÜ identifies 'Fürth' which is nowhere near Cologne where #037's German owner was supposed to live and it's also nowhere near Munich, either. :dunno:

Maybe Roger can assist here?

Looking at the seat, it does look darker than in the crashed shot.....

That is neither #010 nor #037 - that car is #066 !

Don't tease me Roger, that's the only car I don't have verified pictures of....

That is neither #010 nor #037 - that car is #066 !

No - he's saying that #066 is the car pictured in Greg's 'Before' photo that he'd suggested was #010, then I suggested we'd determined was #037. Nothing more than that.

No worries - I sometimes also forget that everyone reading along here is not necessarily as engrossed in the details as others. If something is ever unclear please do ask - we all benefit from more discussion, not less. :)

Another thing, we don't always get it right, but hopefully we get it right eventually as evidenced here by the invaluable help Roger has provided. :thumbsup:

In other news, I was recently told that the BMW Classics Collection museum was closing and the cars would be shifted to a different facility. I don't know if this will mean better access and more chances for the public to see the F1s in Munich, but I certainly hope that will be the case.

BMW Group Classic had to leave their building because of stability issues - it has been torn down last year. Access to their current (temporary) building is even more difficult than it already was in the old one :-(
