Welcome to AF!
If you mean the CEL (check engine light) they mean that there is something wrong with the engine. You can take your vehicle to Autozone or Advance and they will pull the codes and let you know what is wrong, but not why it is wrong. If you come back to the forum and list the code(s) we can tell you what they mean.
