How long does it take/ what special tools am i going to need. and i know how to do limited stuff brakes and i jsut did my first hub assembley so. am i going to be able to pull this off. The mechanic acted like i was very very important that i not try this on my own. he said he wasnt even supposed to let me leave the shop:screwy:.

Hi,

It was about a day for me to do the passenger side on my 98 GP GT (did not do driver) http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=962127. This was due to equipment (i.e. no hydraulic floor jack), procedural change, environment (i.e. 100+ degree) and took my time. Personally, I know I can do it much faster (I ended up performed the strut version).

Autozone will loan you the torque wrench and axle socket (they charged 100.00 for the wrench and 20.00 for the socket plus tax, all refunded when I returned items). Note, some would only loan me the torque wrench.

Talk to several mechanics: my friend, who is a mechanic, 45 minutes-hour; Others, a little over 4 hours.

Hope this helps,
