Hello,

I have a Saturn sl1, 200,100 miles. It starts to over heat if sitting idle with the air on, the transmission buck in reverse and some of the gears buck when in drive. I am looking to get rid of the car. I guess i am going to call a junkyard to pick it up. I see places that will give up $500. Do you think this is the best way to get rid of it. No one would buy this car in this shape right?
It does drive. Thanks for you help.

Edison New Jersey eh?

Your close to me. Id buy the car from you for 200, then spend a sat morning and maybe $100 to fix it and then sell it for 1500 bucks.

Essentially what im getting at is that you can get your car running better in no time with not much work and not much $$. Your call though. if you dont want it im not spending the time to list the things you can do to fix it.

Yes those who are DIY or like to save $$ would buy it bc its an easy fix that gives back alot of $$$

Well since I am out of work, I do have a lot of time to tinker. Could you please give me some ideas to fix it then I can sell it for $1500. I would appreciate,

your rad fan should come when you put ac on, if not under hood fuse box has fan fuse and fan relay check these if you dont know how there are treads that directs you to a youtube video those will guide you through process including where coolent temp sensor is because you may need to change apx $15. saturnfans.com also good forum to check out. good luck.
