I'm no expert, but speaking from experience (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=918743) one major thing to check is that it has had routine maintenance performed. Specifically Timing belt/water pump/etc (every 75k miles I beleive). I had my water pump fail and now I'm ont he tail end of a 6 month repair job (yeah I know it takes someone who knows what they are doing much less time...but I'm a newb to engine repair.)

torlok2002 is 100% right. Make sure maintanence is done. That's the most important thing. Ask for exactly when the timing belt was replaced. Check for any leaks and any smoke coming from anywhere. If you have time, do a compression test, and also pull the intake pipe off the turbo and check for shaft play.

The car is not modded at all, which is a very BIG plus in buying these cars. No kids touched it, thinking they could "tune".

If you don't mind me asking, how much?

btw i am knew to turbo but just grab the shaft and wiggle to check for end play?

looking to buy this as project car with my son.

would this car be a 6 or 7 bolt engine and which is better to have?

later on we want to run it at autocross, thats what i used to do before i got old, lol.

yeah, the turbo shaft should move VERY little from side to side. in and out is ok, as long as it isnt like, loose.

the 95 will have a 7-bolt

autoX would probably be much more fun in an AWD car (GSX) but the FWD (GST) certainly can do it.

the 7-bolt is more prone to "crankwalk" however, take that with a grain of salt because more then 80% of 7-bolts are 'walk free... however, close to 100% of 6-bolts are 'walk free. the rods in the 6-bolt are stronger. the pistons in the 7-bolt are stronger... the head on the 6-bolt flows better out of the box. the 4g63 is a great motor either way... just take care of it. i am a firm believer in the difference between DRIVING and ABUSING the car...

rims are 17 x 8 +38mm
