well i finally went to the track for the first time today. i never been racing before so it was an awesome experince, and i learned and practiced using the tree system.

so i ran my moms accord done the track three times, to get a feel for it, so i know what to expect when i get my crx done. i didnt launch right on the first two runs, but the third i got the hang of it, some more practice and ill be much better. My accord is the 4cyl automatic too, so dont hate.

here are my times:

yeah the crx is about half done now, ive started putting in all my performance parts, i hope to run high 13's to low 14's with it here are my mods so tell me if my ideas are off.

B16A, CTR cams and pistons, Crower SS valves, BPM Dual Valve Springs, Crower Titianium Retainers, Eagle Rods, AEM knockoff intake, DC Header, Catco High Flow Cat, Apex Muffler with custom 2-1/4" mandrel bent pipes, iridium plugs, bosch 8mm wires, and the fastest autobox in the world(ok just kidding, its stock) but i maybe getting a new torque convertor.

tell me if you think this setup can get me into the 13's even 13.999 i dont care.

I'd say you should be a mid to low 14.

thats it, i was hoping mid 14's by the swap itself, im going all motor for now, but i may do like a 50shot later down the line, will my 13:1(or so) compression ratio hold this?

ummmm i wouldn't do it. that's pretty high. of course you know to run high octane gas right. you will prolly be good with premium(sp) tho

Sounds like a nice build to me. 13:1 compression is high as a kite. Are you gonna have to run a race blend all the time? Keep an eye on those ti retainers. They have a high tensile strength but they aren't very ductile meaning they wear more quickly over time. I would check them about once a year or ever 20-30,000 miles. I would say a 50 shot should work for you. Make to to retard your timing about 2 degrees and I would run a higher octane UNLEADED race fuel when spraying to avoid detonation. Good luck and you could get a good gain in mid to high RPM power with a set of nice cams. I don't remember you mentioning them.

You'd be lucky to hit mid 14s with that setup.

Civickiller - How the hell are you getting .1 and .2 RTs? Thats a redlight!

Just go with ctr pistons. U will be fine running nitrous with that set up. And i'm with Siz on ur expected time at the track. If it was manual u would hit high 13s no problem:)

see over here they dont add the .5 so its my rt which is around .7 then they minus it form .5 then you get a .2 rt

am i missing something here? .5-.7=.2? is it the other way around....or is it -.2? i must be retarded lol

on a regular light(one light at a time then green) a .02-.05 is a good light. .00 is the best. on a pro tree(all three light up at the same time) .400 is redlight.

Its .7-.5 = .2. On most time slips anthing below a .5 is a redlight.. I'm guessing that at his track they just don't count the .5 to give you a better unsterstanding of how close you were to perfect RT.

all i know is at my track i see .04-.02 RT's all the damn time

Good times!
just curious..... was the Audi S4 Stock?? cuz if so then those r fuckin good times for stock!!

that compression is just a guestimate for my setup it may be more around 12.5:1 in reality, i was hoping for at least low 14's from my setup and ill be running 94octane at all times.

my track uses a perfect R/T of .500 for the test tree, and the pro tree here is .400 anything less is redlights.

ill prolly keep NA for a long time and run around like that, but once i get it built and broken in, ill hit the tracks and tell ya how it is.

As for the S4, from the outside it looked completly stock, although it looked like it might have a drop, since they are naturally turbo, i couldnt tell anything about that, but that thing was finished beofre i even started the race.

I'm not seeing how it will be possible to run at least low 14s when the only thing that you'll be doing to add power to it is raising the compression and bolt ons.. Like, CTR cams aren't going to do too much for you, especially for the auto.. CTR cams usually only show gains when the rev limit is bumped up and bit.. You'll be lucky if you get mid 14s.

yeah they are sweet as hell

here are the stock specs of one:

Twin Turbo V6
250hp
258lb/ft of toruqe
6 speed
0-60 - 5.9
1/4 - 14.4

so this guy was not stock.

ive seen turbo mods take these well over 500hp with one mod.

edit these are specs for the 01 model.

the 03 model is something like a 4.2 NA 350hp unit.
0-60 5.5 and 1/4 is like low 14
