A/C & Temp Gauge glitch for a few minutes...

Driving along and the A/C quits blowing cold and the temp gauge quit working. Checked all the fuses and they were good. I disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes and and then reconnected it. The A/C and temp gauge works fine again. Anybody have this happen to you or any ideas what it could have been, in case it happens again, maybe I`ll know what to look for?

Thanks!yes the coolant sensor on top of the engine was stuck,same thing happened with mine last year,take neg term off and worked fine ever since

It kinda blew my mind because I have never had any problem with my A/C. I guess that`s the sensor on the drivers side at the top next to the throttle body, maybe?

All I need is a couple of more months and I`m going to trade this 2004 model.

Your A/C did what it is supposed to do. When the PCM cannot tell what the engine temperature is, it shuts off the A/C so the engine doesn't have to work as hard. It also turns on the engine fans. Both steps are to help prevent overheating. When you disconnected the battery, it cleared the trouble code, and since the sensor is working now, the A/C is allowed to work normally.
