1998 Saturn SL2 no start
Did not start for 3 days.
just would not catch.
tried spraying carb cleaner to see if it would start a little that didn't work.
tried cranking with pedal down almost started.
check air cleaner, regaped plugs,
Found filter paper a little chewed up, set a mouse trap in garage.
Found one of the spark plug boots had oil surrounding it ,cleaned that up.
Tried starting almost caught, cranked with pedal down. after a bunch of
tries finally caught.
could it be fuel filter needs to be replaced ?
Is there one on the car?
Not sure why it happened to start this time
any ideas?
thanks

Maybe a leaky fuel injector or three? Hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see if it bleed down rapidly. Pull the spark plugs and check for fuel puddles on top of the pistons.

Start by replacing your coolant temp sensor

+1. Bad ECTS. A cracked ECTS will flood the engine. By holding down the pedal to the floor it shuts off the injectors when cranking to clear the extra gas. I posted a video for this on here before.
'98 has a fuel filter good for 100k. Not the issue.
