Windstar electrical problem

I just took back my car from my mechanic (or what used to be my mechanic) and didn't realize that the car was fixed but the mechanic messed up the electrical. I also paid like dummy :banghead:!!

Now to the problem, the left headlight is always on

The parking lights are also always on. Furthermore the heater/ac is always on even when the control knob is on off as long as I put the fan knob to high its on. WTF?

And once i try to turn on the dash lights they won't light up! There are also more assortment of small electrical problems. Of course this only happens when the battery is attached.

Could this be some wire, relay, or other problem Please give me some suggestions thank you in advance.

BTW---The mechanic was replacing the cracked oil pan in lew of all this problems. Forgot to tell you that it is an 2001 Windstar

I would pay a visit to the shop that just worked on it......they may remember what they unplugged, etc.

I just did some observations on this.
Heres all the problems.

Headlights are always on if battery is connected.
Parking Lights are always on when connected
Fan speed controller is working but the fan selection is always on defoger and floor. So basically fan is always on, speed depending on fan selector. Even if I turn it to the circle which means off, its still on defog and floor.
Car starts, but seems to always be in acc regardless of where the key is. The car is in acc even when the key is not in.
Front windshield wipers work, but rear does not however rear windshield washer fluid comes out if selected.
Radio works, the time on the radio never shuts off even when key is not in car.
Dimmer panel does not work.
Headlights switch does not work.
Turn signals do not work. Hazard flash lights do not work.
Panel lights always on
Instrument Cluster seems faulty.

Please Tell Me Of any suggestions thanks

I am certainly unable to cure the problems on your van but just to let you know. For 1999 to 2003 a lot of item related in your post, in fact everything about headlamp, parking light flasher, emergency 4 way flasher, panel lights are controlled by the FEM (front electronic module) which is located under the dash panel on the driver side. I'm not sure about the other devices (radio and heater/AC fan.) This module is not seviceable but a proper diagnosis of the problem should be realised probably by a Ford dealership garage. A similar unit contolled all the rear lights, flasher etc.
