Good day AF Members. I recently bought a Jensen AM/FM/DVD player to install in my 2000 Impala and there is a pink wire that has to be connected to the Parking Brake Negative wire, but i can't seem to locate the parking brake wire. Any help much appreciated.

No. I didn`t alter any of the wiring, or use any connector. I ran the wires from each speaker first, then i attached the main ground wire to a secure ground, and the power wires to the fuse block on the passenger side. I have no acessories hooked up at all. After i first got it working, it played a music CD fine, but when i put in a DVD it told me to engage the parking brake to veiw the movie. Perhaps if i just connected the wire to another ground on the Car chassis instead of the Handbrake switch.

Grounding it probably won't work. That's the safety feature to keep you from watching movies while driving, so you need the parking brake on, obviously. However, do some research, there may be a bypass for that. I have a Pioneer Avic-D3 navigation/DVD HU and there is a bypass for that so that you do not need to have it connected to the parking brake, however it likely won't be the same for your Jensen unit. I mainly did it so I could enter an address for the navigation without having to have the parking brake on.

I Asked the person i bought it from about grounding the wire to the chassis to get it to play movies ,and it worked like a charm.

Good thing it did work. I don't know where the brake control module is anyway. :lol2:
