Power seat 2002

Power seat will not move forward or back,but will move up and down.Anyone ever had this happen to them.

Do you hear any sound at all when trying to move the seat? Make sure it's really quiet like sitting in your garage with the motor off. I had a mechanical bind a couple years ago and the seat would not move. You could hear a buzz like a stalled motor when pushing the seat button. Turned out to be a coin or a pen wedged into the track of the seat. Once removed, the seat worked fine.

If you hear no sound at all, I would check for a blown fuse and then the wiring under seat to motor for broken wire or loose connectors.

Did this seat just recently quit on you ?? Was it abrupt or did it act up for a while before quitting?

Yes this seat went suddenly,and i hear no sounds will check fuses.

Does the lights in your van dim when you try to bring the seat forward or back. Some one on here before a few years back had to replace there switch you control it with.. Also mine gave me a little trouble a few times. 1st time something was under the seat the second time my battery i guess was getting weak.. After I replaced the battery it started working..
