Strange 2007 Impala LT Keyless problem

OK so we have the issue with the key fob only working when you are close to the car like everybody else, but recently it stopped working all together thinking it was the battery I replaced it. Oddly it didn't fix it. But I discovered if the car is "awake" it works. If the car has gone to sleep, after you lock it and walk away for 2 minutes it no longer works. Since GM only found it fitting to put one lock on the whole car this is somewhat inconvenient. Any ideas? :screwy:

Did you try doing a relearn on the key fobs?

I am having the exact same problem on my 2007 Impala LT. I am going to try the relearn. If that doesn't work, it's into the shop for warranty work on it.

There is a recall on the fob issue having to be so close to the vehicle. We are getting our 06 fixed as I type this. I'll try and post back on what they replaced.

Was that a "recall" or just something like a Technical Service Bulletin? I wonder because I had my 06 LT in the dealer for oil change the other day and they didnt mention it to me.
Just wondering

I have the same problem, but additionally, my Tire Pressure Monitor System isn't working at all. Everything worked fine until a couple days ago, then both remotes quit working and the TPMS isn't working on all 4 wheels. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

There are TSBs about both these issues. I'm shocked:sarcasmsign: that the dealer didn't mention these to you, they generally don't care to keep your car in great shape, especially since these are warranty issues which generate 0 profit for them.

Well what would this cost someone to buy outright? Our car has a prior salvage title and I am guessing GM will tell me where I can go if I bothered to ask. LOL

I had mine replaced in my 06 Impala, the entire system had to be replaced. The dealer reported to me that the repalcement is the updated electronics. I was told there was a TSB on it and not a recall so it would come out of my pocket. Thanks for the after market car warranty.

My 2006 3.9L LT is at the dealer now with the the same issue. Took it back several times about the tire monitor. Surprised they never mentioned this or asked about the remote. Left it at the dealership and remembered to call back and mention the remote issue. Then they said it was connected. Will see how good the extended warranty is? It also wouldn't always relearn the correct tire positions. Hope this is resolved. I have 2008 Silverado with no tire monitor problems.
