Ford's Brake Deactivation Switch Kit

Is anyone else wondering why the boss fitting that comes with this kit is a straight thread and there is no o-ring or gasket of any type on the end that threads in? The first time I installed, I got a leak because I only tightened it to a reasonable torque. I had to really crank down to get it to stop leaking. Did these clowns screw this one up? I think I know the answer to this question, just wondering if anyone else picked up on it.

I too had to torque it further than I thought I needed (despite the fact that it dripped a bit) but once tightened enough it was fine. I'd bet it's at ~30 ft-lbs thought.
