Havent heard that one before. But if thats true its cause the 3.73's in the R or is it 3.55's compared to the 3.42's in the vette.

The car is sorta like a collage. The front is a twisted first gen, and everything from the front quarter pannel to the mufflers is a Ferrari 360 Modena.
Wether it's real or not it kicks ass! But it dosent come close to the original 69 SS.

When you guys say 2000 Cobra R, are you talking about that $50,000 351 powered V8 production race car from Ford that you needed a legitimate competition license to buy? (or rather to get on a waiting list to buy).
You take an otherwise weighed down mid 13 second (to be safe and AVERAGE) F-Body - strip off all that leather, tear out the backseat, AC, lose the spare tire and jack, t-top holders, cd changer, then take an extra $15-20,000 to splurge in the GM parts bin to hot-rod it at the factory with beefier sway bars, springs/shocks, gears, tear out the cat, bigger injectors & fuel delivery system, etc, etc, etc - and you will have an F-Body that would outperform any equivalently priced/built Cobra R. The fact that a loaded to the tits & bulky Firehawk or SS can perform so close to a stripped down Mustang production race car is a real testament to its performance and legacy.
As for the claim that the olde Boss 429 Mustang was the greatest/fastest performing muscle car ever - I would like you guys to look up the quarter mile times of any of those old BB muscle cars - taken back in the 1960's or 70's on leaded gas and stock tires - cause at most they were running as fast as today's 4th gen F-Bodies. Even the majority of those BB Hemi's (my old man had a 383 Cuda & 426 Roadrunner) or Chevelle's were only pulling 14's - and thats if they were lucky! There was only a handfull of cars from the late 60's and early 70's that got into the 13's (and most of those cars were auto's running 4.33:1 gears or 4.30:1 Detroit locker rear ends). Back then all published horsepower ratings were completely bogus and fabricated by the companies (hence why SAE net horsepower measurement cut published HP ratings almost in half when it became mainstream).
Don't get me wrong, SOME of those old musclecars were badass! But the last run, top of the line F-bodies are to date the best ever - in every way.
EDIT: Only time I could find last night for a 429 powered Ford was a 1971 Mach 1 429 Cobra Jet, 390 or 420 HP - 14 sec flat ET @ 100 Mph.

And when I said mid 13 second to be safe and average, that is because the LS1 F-bodies have been proven to pull anywhere from mid 13's to high 12's bone stock from the factory.
Maybe in some of these results the guys DID decide to chuck the tire jack and leave their CD collection out of the car?

it looks alright.. for an American caar.. unfortunately it lacks the sculpting and aesthetic finesse of a Japanese designed car like say the G35 coupe.. skyline R34, silvia s15, NSX-R, RX-7 Spirit R, Supra TT, maybe that's why Americans had a japanese design the new viper, old eclipse and old VR4, .......

skyline r34? didnt they rip that design off bmw? they look almost the identical. NSX? isnt that the corvette wanabe?
anyway japanese are very shitty and making things up from scratch but when it comes to copying or enhance they are very good at it. everyone knows this.
even my asain friend admits that most asians are like robots copying eachother with little or no individual personality or difrence from eachother. and they show this in thier car design for sure.

Yep most had a hard time going 13's. I think the 70 Z28 hit 13.44et...Sad but true fact is most avg "muscle cars" ran like 15's or 16's. I think the SS 350 69 Camaro ran 15.44...thats the same as a 99 Integra GSR. 318 challenger pulled like 17sec 1/4 mile. Still the cars had style which most new cars lack. The only new american cars with style is the vette and viper which is out of reach for the avg guy. SUV's seem to be the thing. Yay...100lbs rims and dark tint, 500lbs stereos and loud exhaust on cars that can barely beat a stock corrola:frown: We need a new camaro. At least GM last pony car was a car to proud of performance wise and looks wise which is something ford cant really say about the current stang. The 4x4 stance. Family car body with ugly scoups slaped on it and a over priced sticker for the SVT which is the only badass stang in the line up. We want a new camaro.

I agree with some of your post like the old muscle cars struggling to even get into the 14s. Its hard to believe that GM really doesnt care right now and is more concerned selling SUVs/Trucks than building performance RWD vehicles. Also, i dont think the SVT is over priced, the engine alone is worth almost $11k!!! You can find some at $33,000 or lower which was the same price as a Trans Am Ram air/Firehawk and a somewhat loaded SS.

Most average muscle cars ran 14's. 350 V8's though good weren't the most favored at the time. Most who drag raced would use the better GM engines such as a 396, 400, 389, or 427 V8.

I give ford a :bigthumb: for the SVT. I guess $33,000 isnt so bad for a supercharged stang. The GT is priced ok unless dealer marks it up. Like my local dealer wants 29k for a GT it said $3k destination charge. I give credit to Ford for getting rid of pushrods. I still love push rods v8's a lil better. Its just sad gas prices are so spendy and the pony wars are dead. I wonder what it would be like for dodge to make a challenger or Plymouth make a 'cuda again. V10 rwd retro styled mopar would be cool. It sux muscle cars were affordable back in 64-72. A kid could by one if he worked full time. I blame insurance companys as well.

:eek7: $29k for a GT? GODDAMN!!! I got my GT fully loaded will all the options (including auto  ) except the Mach 1000 audio system for 23,000. Isnt Dodge coming out with a Charger pretty soon? It looks pretty cool in a futuristic sort of way.
Seriously though 29000 for a Mustang GT, you can have a Mach1 for $30000 something and that has the more powerful 4v DOHC. Also the $33k for the Cobra, youll have to look for them... some dealers charge markups too. There were some Cobras here selling for less than $31000!!! If only I had the money to pay for the car and insurance.

This car would definitly put the mustang to shame. The other camaro concepts just wouldn't do the camaro justice. Look at the gto...its going nowhere and will probly stopped being produced in just a few years. Chevy needs to step it up and get it together, chrystlar is killing the competition w/ its car designs.
Sorry if these pics are the same as this forum's...they wouldn't open on my computer.
