I`ve done hub assemblies on a couple of other cars in the past with no problem. My 2004 Impala seems to be stubborn. The hub will not come off the axle. I`ve hit it with a hammer (the hub), used a puller, used a good rust remover and it won`t budge. Does it hurt anything if the end axle comes out with the hub where I could get to both ends of the old hub assembly? Looks like a lot of rust on the spindle where the hub is. I spent about 2 hours trying to break the hub free from the axle. The axle nut is off, the three flange bolts are off and it seems hub and axle will come out together. Ideas? :banghead:

I just did one. get along the edge of the hub assembly and control arm with an air chisel and chisel away. It will work the assembly out enough to pry
