My grandma has a 06 Impala LT, and ever since she has had the car, you have to get really close to the car to start it by remote, unlock, and lock doors. I've replaced the battery in both remotes, and that hasn't helped one bit... Any ideas on what the issue could be?

replace the remote control door lock receiver,it will come with a new antenna an 2 new remotes. it also has to be programmed. this will fix your problem.

If your car is still under factory warranty there is an updated Remote Keyless Entry receiver, antenna, and transmitters available for many 2006-2007 GM cars. If you are out of factory warranty, you can call your local dealer and ask for a price on the updated version of remote keyless entry (RKE). Your local dealer will be able to tell your which parts are needed for your particular car by you giving them your VIN number. This is a procedure that needs to be done at a GM garage unfortunetly but it is worth the hassle.

Yes the range on the OEM remote starters is a joke. You can go to www.bypasskit.com and buy the upgrade kit yourself and pay 1/2 what the dealer would charge.
