2000 LS Heater Controls Problem

Hello,
I have a 2000 LS that I am having heater controls issues with. The fan, and the temperature controls seem to work just fine. I am having an issue with changing the location of the air flow. (from vent to floor )
The air seems to come out from the defrost location, front vents and the floor all at the same time. It does not matter what position I have the control switch in. I do believe that the control switch is working because it will turn the AC compressor on when the switch is turned to the defrost location. It just will not change the location of the air flow.
It also does not seem to matter if the fresh air / recycle air switches are changed, that does not seem to make a difference either. At least I know that I used to be able to hear a difference, not anymore.

with the fan on the lowest speed see if it will change...if not the controller is stuck or defective..it could be debris causing this...I once had oak acorns in mine..

I should have elaborated a little more. I had the transmission rebuilt last week.
By what I have read, it sounds like it could be a vacuum line. Would a vacuum line for these controls need to be disconnected to get the transmission out? If so, my guess is that this was overlooked on the re-installation.

Sounds like a Vacuum problem. And ya the vacuum line would probably be disconnected cuz the engine would have to be moved to get the transmission out. But I believe the recirc door is also controlled by vacuum, so no vacuum, it blows where ever and the door can't open...
You can check the line your self. Look on the firewall, you'll find a small black tube coming out of it near the center of the firewall. Follow it back to where to connects to the manifold. make sure it's connected.
