I want to paint my valve cover. Would I need any special paint? and is there a special tool i need for unistallation or would i just bolt it off, paint it, then bolt it back on.

Thanks

Scott

get some high heat paint at your local autoparts store ... and yes, basically bolt it off, you may need a new valve cover seal but other than that it will be nice and easy for you.

Edit: Check out my how to on painting the brake calipers, follows the same principle

You don't have to take the spark plugs out, just the wires.

use some engine degreaser too. it takes all the grime off then wash it. let it dry and paint away with hi heat paint

Cool! So I dont need to sand it or anything. How many coats and how long should the whole process take. Thanks

i say you have it done right and get it powder coated but if you want to paint it then def. sand it. and put as many coats as needed to cover the valve cover.
