Radio possessed

This has stumped two mechanics. My radio is uncontrollable. I cannot control volume, change stations, insert cassette, or even turn it off. It even stayed on after exiting car. Finally had to pull fuse. Any ideas?

Same thing happened with my '02 back in '05. Pulled the fuse and it hasn't happened again since. Shortly after it happened to me, a co-worker's '02 Malibu experienced the same weird problem. He did the same thing I did - pulled the fuse - and it hasn't happened to him again either. Not worth debugging, in my opinion...

Sounds to me like maybe the radio was the problem??? Did they change it out to a different one, and was that doing the same thing? If they did change it out and the new radio was doing the same thing, did they check the wiring harness, to make sure a wire wasn't damaged?

The only other thing I can think of is your BCM... I hate going back to the BCM on nearly all of these seemingly weird/goofy problems... But I'm telling you the BCM on these Impalas is FLAKY at the best... And not only that, but doesn't the Passlock system have something to do with the radio?
