I just got my wife a 2008 Impala and need to know if anybody has had or heard of any problems with the car. I've checked the posts on this forum for 7 pages and found nothing. Most of the on-line reviews have been good except Car and Driver editors rated it 2 out of 10 (do they like ANY American cars?), but the same site consumer rating was 10 out of 10. I've also found no recall issues on this car. Did GM resolve the intake manifold gasket issues? Any comments are welcome and appreciated.

As far as I know the intake gasket issues are taken care of. There was a new gasket design in 2002 or 3. Also, the engine was changed and the 3.4 and 3.8L engines are no longer used, starting in 06.
The 08s are probably new enough that the common issues haven't occured yet. I know in the 07s there were a lot of problems with the tire pressure monitoring systems, and the special valve stems were in short supply for a while.

BEFORE YOU BY ANY VEHICLE YOU GO TO NHTSA ....This is a govermental agency that tracks vehicle failures and other saftey problems...
2008/9 vehicles rarely get to forums...as they are under warrantee.
also remember GM may not be around in a couple of years ....then what ???
