Hi everyone...
1998 Ford Windstar 3.8
Been dealing with this van for a while.
Due to service engine lite coming on i have changed the following.
1) IRCM
2) Spark plugs
3) Wires
4) Fuel filter
5) (2) o2 sensor
6) Coil pac
7) Egr
8) Dpf(took it off my wifes 97 ford escort..i crossed refer it...same part)
9) Camshaft sensor
And the van still runs like junk....
The service engine lite comes on only for camshaft sensor now...
I changed it ,reset everything went for a drive and the lite comes back on...
Put the old part back on..reset went for a drive and the lite comes back on...
Not sure what is left to to do...

I know there were some changes from '98 to '99 (which I have). Does your model have a synchroniser assembly that the camshaft sensor mounts too? Its driven by the camshaft. The synchroniser became erratic (lack of lubrication) on mine and I had to change it out.
If you do have this assembly, you might get by by taking it apart and giving it a good cleaning/lubrication ... that is, if there is not too much wear.
