This is what I know at this point....both front wheel bearings have been replaced (2002 3.4ltr 75k) one last year one yesterday. sounds like a wah wah as best as I can describe as if something is out of round, CV joint? if so how to determin which side or is there another possible thought I am missing like rear wheel bearings.../tire belt broken?, trans. Yeah I know at least I know it's not the front left wheel bearing now....A bit frustrated as I have another problem I will post when I get this solved. Right bearing replaced last year (Timken..yesterday Federal Mogul or National Hub Assemblies)

57chevy,
I would rotate the tires first and then recheck. I've have seen out of round tires (called cupped) more than I can remember. The most common cause of this is lack of rotation or bad struts/shocks. They do sound real similiar to a wheel bearing when they have this happen. I'm not saying it's the tires, just a simple thing to check. Usually, you can just run your hand around the circumference of the tire and feel how 'choppy' they are. Sometimes it's more difficult. Let us know.

Thanks Kemi for your response. I had previously rotated the tires front to back with little change in noise. You have given me thoughts of going right to left with rotation at this point. I will do this and respond when the oportunity allows. These tires are Uniroyal and I believe them to be the original mfg and have 76 K with good tread amount but have the dry rot cracking for some time now.

I have had the same problem on my 02 Impala, it sounds like i have mudd tires, I changed the tires, sound is still there. I am thinking maybe my alignment is out or my camber is off, but putting new tires on didn't solve the sound.
