Help Me PLZ

I have a 1999 mercury sable it goes into gear and drives perfect but when i step on the gas to pick up the speed real fast the tranny slips a bit as if it popped into neutral but if i let off the gas then slowly accelerate i can go....please i dont want to have replce the tranny if i dont have to.....thanx
