2003 chevy impala 3.4-The other day my check engine light came on. i brought it to autozone they put it on the computer. they told me to check the gas cap, from the codes that was read he said more than likely it was the gas cap. so i wiggled the cap and it came off. so it wasnt on properly. the last time i put gas in it was 300 miles before. the light came on after 300 miles. but yeah i put the cap back on and i been driving around for 2 days the light is still on.. and was wondering if i had go somewhere get it reset it or it will reset on it will cut off on its own.. i tried taking the battery post off for a few mins but didnt work.. help please cause i dont need my car to break down.... it drives fine no prob

What code specifically was it?
It can take several drive cycles to reset the light if it was a loose gas cap. Most parts counter people are not diagnostic techs and the info received from them should not be considered fact in any way!!!!! Although the service they provide with the free code reading is very helpful and we should thank them for that!
