i'm using the obd-1 p28 ecu, but my B18 is obd-0

OBD-0 Injectors will work too, just wire in the resistor box when you're using an OBD-1 ECU. Sometimes, if you get to a junkyard that has them, you can get resistor boxes and Main Relays free... I get them free around here sometimes.

Well if your car has a resistor box right now just leave it in the wiring, and use the obd0 injectors. They are all 240cc and will work fine.

Hrm... why didn't I realize that the OBD-0 B18 came out of his car.. and therefore most likely used a resistor box.. damn I'm stupid this early in the morning.

Frodo nailed it.

Adrian nice decoy post....except I can only assume the 6 digit number on the bottom left of the valve cover is the mileage on it....you were close :P

BLU CIVIC

i think that's 7 #'s...after the 5 there's a zero....but the engine did say B16a, i just used paint to copy the 1 from those numbers to make it B16a1 :)

alright...happy i can use those injectors :)

Bad ass man. And damn is that thing clean!

BLU CIVIC

i got the valve cover yesterday...made it look a lot better

Christ

I liked the red one, but for safety's sake, black is probably the best way to go, especially if you ever plan on opening your hood outside of a locked/hermetically sealed garage.

PS.. Did you paint that intake, or did it come that way? And is it aluminum?

BLU CIVIC
10-26-2008, 07:24 PM
yeah it's aluminum and came that way...ebay special

upon stripping the red valve cover i round out it was damaged...dent in the front that cracked through to the inside

Christ
10-26-2008, 07:31 PM
Oh, that sucks.. can't even sell it then. I figured you just changed it for the sake of it being a CTR cam cover...

BLU CIVIC
10-26-2008, 07:33 PM
well i did. but i'm glad i found this out

Didn't you just get that dizzy?

I thought you had problems w/ it before... or didn't you use the B18 Dizzy?

BLU CIVIC
11-01-2008, 07:03 PM
this is the obd2 distributor that came with the motor...the B18 is sitting collecting dust...

Christ
11-01-2008, 07:04 PM
Ah... are any of the parts swappable? I mean, the ignitor, coil, etc... so that you can recoup the cost of the B18 dizzy or something...

BLU CIVIC
11-01-2008, 08:29 PM
dunno...he said he's going to try to fix it...i hope he can, supposed to call me tomorrow to pick it up...i hope he does fix it

Tony
11-01-2008, 08:54 PM
I know for sure the ignitor is interchangable, pretty sure the coil is too, but haven't done that one yet.

Only difference between the different ignitors is the mounting bracket attached to them, which is held on by 2 screws...easy to swap around.

BLU CIVIC

he said it wasn't the ignitor b/c we were getting spark...something else in the distributor...we couldn't get the car to turn over but once we switched it out with another one it started right up

FrodoGT

Coil. BTW, I love obd1. I had a bad igniter and the ecu threw a code for it. I would have been scratching my head for hours before I got it. The coil was easy to diagnose, and both were bad. Also I swapped both the igniter and coil from my obd2 one to the obd1, but im not sure how it works from obd0, I don't imagine it would be too different.

BLU CIVIC

yeah my car is complicated now...OBD1 ecu, OBD0 wiring harness, and OBD2 injectors and distributor

Christ
11-02-2008, 08:55 AM
wow... that's OBD-a-licious.

So, do you think you could sell your dizzy for anything close to what you paid for it? I mean, if you could, that would help if you had to buy a new one for this "B16A" :sly:

BLU CIVIC
11-02-2008, 03:05 PM
trying to sell it...

bought one from the friend of the guy that's working on my car...new problem...engine that uses premium gas and my gas tank was full of regular

FrodoGT
11-02-2008, 05:06 PM
Youll be fine, just drive it.. it wont hurt anything, run the tank out and go for premium. I ran my b16 on regular for a month when the hurricanes came and we had 20 gal of regular laying around.

Christ
11-02-2008, 05:15 PM
Yeah, it will be fine, you just won't have all the power you should... and you won't wanna rev it up much, for detonation.

FrodoGT
11-02-2008, 05:33 PM
Actually youll find detonation more likely in the low rpm high load areas.. but yes dont rev it balls out on regular, actually with ctr pistons your should have been running prem on the b18 too :P

BLU CIVIC
11-02-2008, 08:02 PM
yeah i know i should have been using premium

but she's home...wife drove it home and she was really getting on it...was speeding most of the way home :lol2:

Christ

Ok, apparently I can't just quote myself and post it, so there is my 3 characters for a post.
