2003 windstar ABS & Brake light on

I have a 2003 windstar, the ABS & Brake light are on at same time. Could someone please help w/ some possible solutions. I have checked the rear sensors. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

We need to know what code(s) are present for the ABS!

Its a common problem on these windstars.. Mine comes on from time to time.. It the ABS module going bad most likely. But you can check the brake fluid to make sure its full. Also check the brake pressure switch on the master cylinder for signs of leaking.. But often times when it hot out side the ABS and brake light both come on do to the ABS module under stress from the heat.. There is a web site explaining the problem. Whats happening is over time the module electronics are melting.. Have not heard of any fires yet but i do know mine is ok on cool days.. During the winter and fall last year my ABS and brake light stayed off the whole time if i remember right. When summer came this year it came on quite a bit. I just turned the key to off and reset it. If it stays on all the time it maybe time to get a new module.. But to confirm your failure the dealer may have to pull the codes.. The module runs about 600.00.. hope this helps

thanks for both replies. I havent taken any ABS codes yet, there are no leaks, i figured that the ABS module was the problem. Thank you gary & airjer
