good oil

mt 2000 sel has 104563 miles on it. i have been using 10w40 mobil one since i got the van, is this the right oil to use in south florida? hot all year round.

I would say its a very good choice. They also have a 0w-40 that would be even better.

Florida is warm not cold so the 10W40 oil will work fine. You don't want too thin as some Ford oil pumps don't pick up immediately with thin oil.

I live in Georgia which is usually warm/hot. But occasionally I like to drive up into snow country on vacation ... so, a "0w-something" makes sense for me. It is the low number, the "0w-", that helps on cool/cold engine start-up ... actually easier for any oil pump to get going with.
I prefer 0w-40. But because of lower pricing, am currently using Mobil1 0w-30 in the Walmart 5qt container. That's what my '99 3.8 will get at its next oil change. At 250k miles.
