95 sl2 cuts out on hard take off

New to this site.I have a 95 sl2 dohc motor just tuned it up and it runs good,but on a hard take off it cuts out ,but if you take off slow it fine.any help would be great.I did a scan and no codes and the ects has been replaced.Thanks Jeff

Check your TPS. Its possible there is a dead spot. Also check your wires. firing order is 4-1-2-3 at the coil packs.

How do you check the tps and the wires are new and are in the right spot.thanks

You may also want to check the contact area of the ignition module to the tranny. Clean it from any dirt and such.

The TPS is a variable resistor. Using an ohm meter, you want an increasing (i believe it increases) with the turning of the throttle. It should be consistent either way, with no zeroes at any point other than at WOT or closed throttle.

Are you talking about the plug on top of the trans?if so it is clean because i just replaced the top pan gasket,and i will check the TPS and see what happens.I for got to say it does this when the motor warms up,and the the cat has been replaced,its not bad but just a thing the gets under my skin.

No, the ignition module is what the plug wires are connected to. held to the tranny with 4 10mm bolts.

While your under the hood clean the EGR. 2 13mm bolts. This some times can lead to missing when dirty.
