Engine Oil Stop Leak - Good or Bad Idea?

I have another post where I described that my (my wife's actually) 2000 Winnie with a 3.8L has an oil leak.

Does anyone use oil treatment additives like Bar's Engine Oil Stop Leak to treat oil leaking??

I'm interested in what people's experience is with these products.

Thanks.

I put some in my 2001 a few months ago. Not sure it did a whole lot, but it didn't seem to hurt anything. I still have leaks, but maybe not as bad. Hard to say.

I had an old 1990 Dodge Spirit with the 3.0v6 and stop leak products never helped (engine oil). I have used Bar's Stop Leak in radiators before that worked, though. On the Bob Is The Oil Guy forums Auto-RX has been recommended for oil burning/ leaks and seems to have a good reputation.

Thanks guys. Good to know it won't hurt to use it....just in case I can't find the source of my oil leak.
