I'm new so bare with me.... I have a 2002 Impala with 101,000 miles. Check engine light is on. When I accelerate the car jerks and acts like it's not getting enough fuel. We've changed fuel filter, spark plugs and before we purchased the car the cat. converter had already been replaced. Do you have any suggestions. Car runs great after we get it up to speed but it jerks really bad until it gets up to speed. Feels like it's falling apart. Any help would be appreciated.

Get it scanned, post the code the scanner shows.
I would also suspect the fuel pump, or the wiring to the fuel pump, as those a fairly common problem areas. However, it could be other things as well. Find out why the check engine light is on first, before changing parts. Autozone will scan for free, so will some other places.
