01 Windstar Rear Blower Inoperative

:uhoh: Made a repair to the rear system last year due to cooling problems so now it has to be something different. This season it is the rear blower. I don't get any response from the it other than clicking sounds when I change the blower setting from the front control; no response from the rear controls either. Here's what I've done:

-Switched the number 3 & 6 relays in the front fuse box
-Switched the relays on the rear blower
-Switched the rear and front relays just for kicks
-Checked the heavy duty fuses under the hood (can't remember the name right now); I did notice that each of these are supposed to be 40A, one is 30A and the other is 50A.

So armed with this info I found a thread with a similar problem for a 99 Windstar. I took a quote from that thread titled, "99 Windstar rear blower inoperative"

QUOTE "12Ounce, Dougand3 - thank you for your advice. My problem is resolved! I changed the Resistor Assembly (p/n 4F2Z*19A706*BA, $12.00 from my local Ford dealer). The fan is working fine - just in time to take the family on vacation! Thanks"

In the noted thread they went through quite a bit of trouble shooting, which was over my head. My question is this - is it worth replacing this inexpensive resistor to see if it fixes my problem? If so, how easy is this fix since I can get to all of the rear components.

Thanks in advance
