Hello all after all the great advice i got here awile back about a bad shifting tranny i got another valve body and it worked great..its a 91sc 1.9 DOHC auto.got another engine 61k mile on it took it to a back yard mech(joke) it ran fine shifted perfect on the way there..Got a call tonight after almost 3 months ITS DONE..went to pick it up runs fine EXCEPT it over heats and low coolant light and check engine light on,and to get it to go you have to drop it all the way into low it shifts, but no reverse and no park..park acts like nuetral. reverse indicator all the way down to low it shifts into a drive gear now is it possible its just in need of an adjustment? and a new ECTS any great advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED

Check the shifter cable. It need to be adjusted.

You need to get the SES code. This will tell you what the issue is. Most likely its a sensor that was forgot to be put back.

Over heating is an issue. 1/2 as per the guage is normal operating temps. Fan should turn on right before the red. Anything higher and a new radiator may be in order. If this still has a stock radiator, its has over 17 years on it...it owes you nothing.

Also check the coolant level. Sometimes the coolant sensor is very touchy and a little bit low will trigger it.
