I am on my third rear exhaust manifold on my 02 impala with a 3.8L. Anybody else having this problem. The original split at the seam at 98,000. The second one cracked near the flange lasted 10,000. I have not pulled the current one out to see where is is bad. I have about 7,000 on it. Any ideas on what to do to make the next one last.

were the replacements OEM ? if not where made china/india...it is not that uncommon in hot off road type driving to create stesses that cause this componet to crack...after 100,000mi .... the replacements appear to me to be defects in manufacture....

The replacement manifolds were "aftermarket". I have a GM one coming from GM direct I guess while I am at it I will look at all the mounts and flex pipe for problems. Any other suggestions?

this is good ....check that the exhaust does not hit or is restricted by body....

Well I put the new manifold on. This last one split on the weld seem. I checked the felx on the exhaust checked the engine mounts. I didnt find anything wrong with them. I am hoping that this OE will last.

cracking at the weld is the problem not your vehicle ...I'm sure the OEM part will last another 100,ooomi......
