Time for a new fuel filter

I have a 2002 GP GT wit 79K and its time for a new fuel filter. I wanted to know does it matter what brand of fuel filter I get? Or should I stick with an AC Delco fuel filter?

It is always best to stick with AC Delco whenever possible when changing a part. However, as long as you go with a respectable brand that you know will do good it is okay. I just recently changed mine and I put a Purolator fuel filter. I either went to Autozone or Advanced and they didn't have AC Delco in stock. Purolator meets or exceeds OE standards. They are several brands out there that make good parts that will do what you want with no side effects along with it. Be ready for some gas when you change it. It surprised me at just how much came out and it almost got me in the eye. haha

I just did my fuel filter and I have the same car (02 GP GT) and I used a Fram fuel filter. accuab is right, be ready for the fuel it can catch you off guard. Don't know if you've changed one before but here is a link to a post on the forum in the tips and maintenance section that I followed. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=656052 I removed the fuel pump fuse and started the car to reduce the presure in the fuel line, works well.

I would stick with Delco, but if you use an aftermarket, just be sure it's stainless steel and not pot metal which will corrode and be impossible to get off next time.
