Hey I got a 97 SC2 140k 5spd
Ok sometimes when i back out of my parking spot and take off i get a REALLY loud pop noise(my mom told me she has heard it from inside but i park close to her window) from the front end more on the driver side i think. It kinda sonds like a strut problem. but i really cant feel it in the tranny or anything.
But once in a while i get a thud when im shifting most of the time down into second.
I did just get my head gasket done and clutch diff pin and throw out bearing replaced.
one last thing is it normal that i hear it kinda catch when i shift and it kinda stiff
wow my por baby is falling apart. but i still love er

Check your TAM Mounts. SInce your transmission was moved, id double check to be sure the mounts were put back right and torqued to the right specifications.

There are four components for the TAM mount. The upper engine mount, lower engine torque strut (aka dogbone mount), upper transmission torque strut (aka tranny dogbone mount), and the lower transmission mount (square looking thing).

so do you think this could be causing my problems???? mainly the loud clunk my friend that did the tranny work said it could be the cradle. but its been a few days and it hasnt done it. is it something serious that i should worry about?
the other thing it the catch/grind noise normal when going thru gears?
