Rad Fan Resistor

I am looking for the radiator fan resistor on a 1996 ford windstar 3.8. if anyone can help me locate this that would be great.

If it is like my 95, the resistor is a white ceramic U shaped piece, about 1"X!.5"X3", located behind and below the passenger side headlight. Open the hood and look straight down right at the base of the lights. The wiring and connector to it is next to the wiper fluid reservoir fill. The wires may be black with orange and brown with orange on it.

To buy it....you need to go to a FORD dealer.
To locate it......it is on the internal metal bumper......you can see it when looking down behind the passenger side headlight.

This is an easy repair once you get the part.

My dropping resistor was also broken. Living in a country where Windstar had never been sold by FORD dealers’ makes ordering any parts quit difficult. :banghead: So I decided to use knife, clear a bit of the wiring, took a soldering iron and … Nearly two years past and it’s still working. Pictures from Wiswind (thank you) will help you find the resistor.
