SRS light... help me with turning it off

2000 Accord (LX I believe)
4 Cyl. 1.8L

I recently bought this vehicle with the SRS light on. Asked the dealer what it was about and he said that after so many miles it'll come on to indicate that ya should take it in to have the bags checked and reset the light. Well I really don't feel like spending any extra $$$ just to have a light turned off.

Can someone tell me STEP BY STEP how to turn it off. I hate air bags as it is so disabling them isn't out of the question to me either, but we'll start with the light first.

Thanks in advanced
P.s. Pics, or even better video, for reference would be most helpful... I'm not too great with simple things that just say "little yellow connector wire"

I just posted the procedure on this thread

You can use a paperclip instead of the tool shown...it's just clumsier.

Thank you so much... That had to be the most annoying light ever... besides the check engine light on my jeep.

Hi I recently have my SRS light on too. You can reset it and it should go away, but if it comes back on again that means the airbag needs to be checked.

Usually it might be the a coil that goes bad by the steering wheel.

Also from what I heard, the place that does smog check will not pass the visual inspection with SRS light on.

I'm going to try to reset mine and see what happens.
