recently i changed my front rotors on my 05 impala, when it was all done and went for a drive the abs, trac all lite up,took it to my buddies house who is a g.m mech and when he scanned it it said left front speed sensor,he cleared the codes and it went away and said the wheel bearing is not gone but a good chance there is a chafed or broken wire, today i took the left front wheel odd to check the plug and noticed the thin wiring was chafed right where the wires come in behind the inside of the wheel bearing and looks like is just above the c.v joint axel ,i think the wire may be broken but what i need to know is where there is not enough room to cut it and join it again because there is'nt enough wire to pull through and where it is close to the c.v joint is do i have to take the wheel bearing right off to fix it and if sohow is it done,3 bolts maybe and let the tie rod go?,the car was fine with the codes reset till i pulled a little on the wire harness and when i put the wheel back on she lit up again, abs, trac control

I believe you can get that section of harness from GM dealer, a splice can be tricky as you see and the system does not like any addt'l resistance in the circuit. Also check with a parts house, Dorman may make the harness.

No, ithe harness must be too close to the outer axle housing, just a guess form the desk.
