2000 SL2 A/C Diode

Hi Everyone,

Is there anybody familier with what if the small electronic parts "AC Diode" inside the fuse box under the hood is broken, such as open circuit; will let the air conditioning system down?

I have a 2000 SL2 A/T with 104K miles on. The AC was suddenly gone. Switch and the compressor are tested functional except the AC Diode is opened circuit, no reading on either side. According to my understanding, this AC diode is the gate keeper and prevent the current flow back to the PCM, ie. keep the PCM in the safe place.

Im not an expert on A/C but get a new diode and see if it works

Did you remove the diode before checking with an ohm meter? Should read open circuit (infinite resistance) one way and short the other way or very low resistance. If it's open or shorted both ways when removed from the circuit, replace it.
