1999 Windstar Power Door Lock Trouble

I replaced the driver and passenger side power door lock actuators, with OEM parts, a while back. I remember it was a tough job, involving convoluted rods and linkages, but all is well because the power door locks still work.

I just tore into both rear sliding doors, to attempt a similar project. I worked for about two hours and me brain is fried and I is completely dumb founded!

Since both of the old locks stopped working completely, no noise or movement, at all, I figured the motors burned up good and crispy.

But the new OEM actuators don't make any sound or movement either???

I checked for voltage, at the electrical pigtails, inside the door, and I got nothing. And my meter works because I get good volts at the battery terminals.

Any ideas?

check and make sure you door contacts are clean.. The doors will only lock when the sliding doors are closed and the contacts are good and clean. Contact cleaner will work a long with a pencil eraser.. hope this helps.
