I have a 93 sl2 standard and i have jerking motion at low rpms only when i am trying to maintain speed. I have replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, idle control valve, plug wires, ECTS, and have had the coils tested, and still it keeps jerking kind of like hitting little bumps in the road. Please help this is getting really anoying... Oh and no codes are showing

Have you cleaned the thottle body or the EGR? Id start there. Also, your car has two ECTS sensors. You want to replace the one with the 2 wire connector. One more thing: NGK Copper spark plugs. Nothing fancy.

Thank you for the reply. I have also cleaned the throttle body, but not the EGR and yes it was the two wire ECTS. Also why copper spark plugs?

Sounds like EGR valve to me. It's not likely that you will be able to successfully clean it but you can try it before replacing it. If cleaning doesn't work, time for a new one.
These EGR valves aren't as simply as they look. There is some kind of vacuum bleed port in the things somewhere. When this gets clogged it's very difficult to clean out. This vacuum bleeder is what keeps the EGR valve from stay open steady. It's the staying open that is causing your jerking. The EGR valve should flutter open and closed rapidly.

Thank you I cleaned the EGR last night. I put a vacumn pump on it and opened it up a few times and cleaned inside. I will try it today on my way to work to see if it helped...

Ok so cleaning the EGR didn't help. I did notice that when I was cleaning, it had stuff loose in it above the diaphram. Kind of like a rattle????????

Anything that is special (iridium, platinum etc) do not work well with the ignition spark system of the s-series. Saturns use a Waste Spark System and copper spark plugs work well with it

check your firing order. Should be 4-1-2-3 at the coil packs

Ok so does anybody think that this problem could be my catalytic converter partially Plugged????

I suppose the next thing would be to clean the ignition module and contact points. The undeside of the 4 screws holding the module to the tranny must be rust free as they are used as grounds for the coil packs. Also make sure the bottome of the ignition module is corrios free along with the mating surfafce on the tranny. while you at it clean the posts also

Could be. To check, remove the O2 sensor from the manifold and drive the car. if the proplem goes way...well it could be the Cat clogged. Note that it will be loud and the car will have an SES code with the o2 removed.

Eh, did you replace your EGR valve? I think we already covered this.
Simple test: Disconnect the vacuum line to the EGR valve and plug it with a golf tee or something similar. Drive the vehicle. If the symptoms go away, replace the EGR valve.
I'm sure this is your problem as I have experienced the exact same symptoms.
