Engine Mechanical problem
1997 SL2 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 139000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have 1997 Saturn SL2 DOHC 16 Valve 1.9Liter L-4 Engine, fuel injected car that uses a lot of oil. I have had this car for the last 5yrs. My parents owned it before me. My Dad is a mechanic, now retired and moved to another state year, performed all the regular maintenance and upkeep on the car. I still have the oil changed every 3000 miles, but recently it has started burning more oil than usual. I haven't clocked it for how many miles I go before it needs another quart of oil, all I know is that about every three weeks I notice the car sounds like a diesel when I start it, I check the oil and the dipstick is dry. There is no oil on the garage floor, and it doesn't smoke at all, but I did notice that my coolanthttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/1.gif (http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116365#) reservior has this dark gray sludge in it. The coolant system was flushed last year, when we put a new radiator in. Could a faulty pcv valve cause this? This has never been replaced. Any help or suggestions you may have will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I believe you had this answered in the other forun correct? IIRC the main suggestion was for a MMO soak or two :)
