Intermitten passenger side power sliding door

My wife's 2000 SEL is acting up. The passenger side door would not power up sometime when door was actuated from outside. Normally when you pull the door handle, the power door motor kicks in and slide the door open/close for you. Lately it is not doing that. When acting up like this, the motor does not respond to the door actuator switch at the passager side. However, it responds to the main door actuator switch at the driver's overhead. Funny thing is, after a few days, the problem disappears. Since the problem is intermitten, I tell my wife to try again later whenever she complains about it. Any good advice/lead to fixing this problem????:frown:

Could be as simple as a Door pin switch. Check them for rusty pins.. Does your Lamp Door opened on the dash light up when that slider is open..

clean the door pin contacts with something like WD 40 and make sure that the pins move freely. This same condition happens to our van slider doors and usually is corrected with the above maintenance.

I have not tried cleaning up the door pin contacts. I will clean the contacts as Northern piper suggested and report back on this forum with results.

There is a sleep mode on the power sliding doors that would act like what you are describing. After so many minutes the sliding doors will deactivate to an extent, so a simple pull on the outside handle will not activate them, you actually have to pull the handle and start the door back a little ways before it will activate. Once it does that you should be able to just pull the handle out and it will open immediately.
