1997 Tahoe heating issue

I have a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe,and the heat doesn't work..I have flushed the radiator,changed the thermostat,put in a new heater coil,a new heater control switch. What could possibly be wrong?

Most likely the temp control door since you've replaced almost everything else.

The temp door is electrically controlled by the settings on the dash panel.

So either the door is jambed, the motor is bad or the wiring to it is bad.

does the heater blower work... ? are the heater hoses both hot ????when filling radiator with coolant did you leave fill cap off till the engine came to operating temp??????????

There is a heater valve under the air filter housing-check to see that the cable controlling the valve is working.

On a 1997 the heater valve is vacuum controlled. Here is what the part looks like:

This is what controls the flow of heated water to your heater core.

Heated water exits the engine block and goes to the heater valve. If the heater valve is closed the hot water is looped back to the engine block. If the heater valve is open, the hot water is allowed to flow through to the heater valve to the heater core.

If you are getting hot water flowing through the heater core and the tempature control door is open, you'll have heat in the cabin.

Troubleshooting should be fairly simple from here.
