99 SL1 automatic trans removal

Anybody know of a free online procedure to remove and replace the automatic trans on a 99 SL1. ( Used Tranny) Any special tools needed?

Take engine out with transaxle or leave engine in?
I am waiting on a Haynes manual from Library.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The tranny can be taken out by itself through the drivers side wheel well. The hardest part will be to get the shifter of the tranny. Go to saturnfans.com and look in the how-to library for directions. Also look in the Tech section for a thread started by Barnowl as he just did this operation and has pictures of the parts he had problems with. See ya over there :)

the job wasnt to hard i replaced the one in my 99 in a day. it looks harder than it is.

Did my manual swap in 7 hours by myself. Not to hard tho expect to do it in 9-10 hours if youve never done it before
