just had the impala in for oil change, was told that it has a manifold leak, could this also cause a delayed start and a noise after starting?

no. not unless coolant is entering the engine and leaking into the cylinders. which would also cause a misfire. I'd have your chevy dealer check it out to see what else may be going on.
