I have a 98 Montero Sport with 3.0 24 valve V-6. Cannot get spark from any of the three coils. Recently the water pump, timing belt and crank sensor was replaced. Driven about 100 miles after the work was done. Shut the truck off, then would not restart. The timing belt has been checked again to make sure it is still in time, and it is according to the marks.
The rpm guage makes no movement while the engine cranks, but I never paid much attention to it while the engine was cranking anyway so that may be normal.
My scanner doesn't show any trouble codes in the system. I can look at what each sensor is doing until I actually crank the engine, then the scanner goes off line while cranking, so can't tell if I am getting an rpm signeal to the computer while it is cranking.
Could the igniton module have failed? If so, where the blue blazes is it?
Any help on where to start is appreciated.

Hmmm, how about a repair manual? Where can I get one? Haynes nor Chiltons offers one.
Thanks,

Okay, little update. A new ignition module got this vehicle up and running.
