I glanced around and didnt see anything similar, so I am posting a new one.
my 02 LS (3.8) with 142,XXX Miles runs great, sounds normal, feels normal, gets good gas mileage, and overall is in like new condition. However, lately it has been starting hard, and once it actually died at idle in a parking spot. it started right up on the first click, and hasnt died since, but I dont like it. It seems only on cold starts. it is -5 outside today, so its a cold start for sure. I have been forced to crank on it for several seconds to start it, and I think I have smelled a little gas on startup, but in sub-zero temps its hard to tell. any input is much appreciated.
Thanks,
tommy

if your plugs are old this can be a problem. this is because at -5deg f your battery can only put out half its rated power.this then causes the spark to plugs to be lower than when engine runs old plugs may put out a weak spark and with an engine of this mileage you compression is not as high. so weak battery, plugs, wires, battery connections.start here because it could be other things......
